By mixing sensational DJs with breathtaking acrobatic dancers, decor and pyrotechnics, Sensation has evolved to become a spectacular event of international importance. Each year a new theme sets the mood for an audio-visual extravaganza that starts out in Amsterdam before moving on to other cities around the world. It’s a festival of sound, colour and light that is made even more impressive to the eye by the firmly established rule – that everyone must wear white. This rule has existed since the summer of 2000, when the very first edition, starring Tiësto, Sven Väth, Carl Cox and DJ Jean, took place at Sensation’s spiritual home, Amsterdam ArenA. Sensation has since been experienced by more than a million clubbers worldwide and a wide range of DJs have performed at the event. From the melodic trance of Armin van Buuren to the upfront electro of David Guetta, and from the minimal techno of Richie Hawtin to the pumping house of Erick Morillo.
